When you think about it, almost everything is animation. Your eyes only record at around 60 hertz, or 60 frames a second, and they can see in a bit less than 4K resolution (Hot tip: Don’t buy that 5K tv. You literally can’t see the difference unless you are a Mantis Shrimp). That means that everything we see is a series of frames that are patched together to create our reality. By placing images in front of each other fast enough, you can create the illusion of movement, whether it is by making a flip book or computer animating a dragon soaring through the air. In this camp, we will be doing both. We will learn the fundamentals of animation, and work on computer animation, stop motion, paper animation, and a bunch of other techniques. A note to parents: Animation is never a fast process, and takes concentration and patience. This camp may not be good for kids who need to be constantly moving and like to have action happening at all times.
