Our electronics area has oscilloscopes, breadboards, soldering, and more! Members can also use a small CNC machine to fabricate circuit boards.
The computer lab is connected through ImOn fiberoptic--the fastest speeds in Iowa City! Feel free to sit down at any of our 10 Windows computers or grab a Linux laptop for some Hackerspace fun!

Lasers, pew-pew! These are no mere toys. We have a 60 watt laser with an 18″x27″ bed, and a 150 watt laser with a 3’x5′ bed. Cut through fabric, wood, plexiglass, and more! Etch into metals, glass, and ceramics! Similar lasers cost $1/minute to use, but these are open to all members!
Our shared studio is rentable to any member. Perfect for personal projects and storage, each cubby is $50 per month.
The balcony above the metals shop now holds additional screen printing gear. More coming soon!

Winter Break Camps are here!

What the heck are you going to do with your kids for the two weeks of winter break? 

Let them come and play with us at the Fab Lab!   Our winter break camps are for ages 7 to 14, and gives you peace of mind, and them something to do!  

Sign up for just one day, or every day!  Beat the winter blues for your young ones.

Monthly Open Woodshop

Once a month we host an open woodshop day for anyone (member or not) to come in and use the woodshop. 

If you have experience (and act safely!) you can use the tools yourself or you can have one of our experienced employees or members do it for you. Cost is a sliding scale depending on how much you need to do. (A drill for 5 mins? free. The tablesaw for a half hour? Not free.)

COVID-19 Protocols are still in place

-There are plenty of wipes and cleaners around for guests and members to clean equipment and surfaces.
-Hand sanitizer is also readily available throughout the Lab.
-COVID is still in our community and we ask those with cold-like symptoms (even allergies) to please wear a mask.
