Fab Gab

The Fab Lab got a facelift in the past few weeks!  The display wall is looking great, with more room for our members to show off the designs and creations they have made.  We are creating some fun Halloween inspired decorations, which we are selling on the website, if you want some unique to your creep.  Laser cut spider puzzles, window hangings, custom yard tombstones, glowing ghosts, wall projections, and more.  I also may put up a last-minute class or two, so you can make your own creations with the laser and 3D printer, even if you are not a regular member.

This week you will see more than the usual six classes with our weekly email.  We are using this week to get ahead, so that you know about next week’s classes, instead of the ones for the next five days.  Apparently people like to plan more than 2 days ahead.  Who knew?  We will start listing the classes for the next week, starting next week.  Remember, you can always go to our website and look ahead!

For those of you who enjoy our classes, but want to see more, we are getting more teachers set up, so we can pack the calendar!  Remember that you do not need to be a member to take any of our paid classes, but members (above basic level) get 20% off for every class!  You also get discounts on events and speakers.

As our plan for the permanent space continue, we are starting to look into partnerships in our business community. There are plenty of opportunities for all types of business, whether it is one-day team leadership building, specialized training sessions, or more direct partnerships with school groups, small businesses, and individuals who just need a small space to play in, or startups who need a space to grow out of.

This week and next, look for lots of classes gearing up for the holidays, and getting ready for the colder weather.  Tuesday the 16th come on by and make a scarf with our arm knitting class or a copper tree with River Bottom Hill Company.  Wednesday join us with our free electronics meetup, and this weekend check out the DIY robocars meeting, or learn to solder your own Simon handheld game.

The last thing I will mention is to be on the lookout for the start of our drop in and scheduled hours for STEM tutoring.  We will have engineering students on hand to help everyone from Junior High through Junior in college with any science, math, engineering, and physics classes!  Our website will have more details soon.

I will talk with all of you next week!  Until then, stay away from spooky figures, and dark walks in the woods.
