A few projects over the years.

So what is the difference between workshops and classes? Our basic structure is this:

Basic Classes

Basic Classes are the bare bones basics. These are set up to teach you how to use the tools or machines safely, how to not hurt yourself or the equipment, and a few tips and tricks along the way. They are cheap to take becase they are BASIC. Sometimes you will bring a project home, and sometimes it is just working with the tool. Basics classes are also FREE for members, and that is why we have them. So that our members can use our equipment and tools safely. They can be taken by anyone in the community, but are primarily designed to train our members.

Classes

Classes (that don’t say basic in the title) are one-time classes that usually are one specific project. These classes can be short (half hour) to long (up to 6 hours). They meet one time and you leave with your project (or pick it up later after it dries, solidifies, etc).

Classes can be taken by anyone (with some caveats, like the teacher can choose age range or pre-existing skill level), and are taught by anyone with the skills to teach that subject. If you want to teach something, you can contact us HERE and we will set up a time to get you started! Members get 25% off of these classes.

Workshops

Workshops are multi-class projects. Any time you come in for the same project more than once, we call it a workshop. Some can be several days in a row, and some can be once a week for many weeks. It depends on the subject, the teacher, and the project. Like classes, anyone can teach a workshop if they have the skills, and teachers get paid to teach! Anyone in the community can take a workshop (again, with the caveats of age range, etc decided by the teacher) and members get 25% off of any workshop they take.
