Beginner-friendly fundraising event Sat May 17th from 1 PM – 4 PM led by serial-crafter Marsha Cheyney.
Up your game from “projects in grocery bags” to projects that ARE grocery bags! Sew your own lined tote bag and customize it with simple heat transfer vinyl images or text (as desired). Even if this is your first time meeting a sewing machine in real life, you will leave the Fab Lab with a finished, lined tote bag.
All materials are provided – we have a ton of fabric available… AND we know that what we have may not match your personal aesthetic. If you need a specific fabric color or pattern, you probably should bring it. Below are the amounts of specific materials used in this project:
- ½ yard outer fabric (canvas, denim, quilting cotton, or other heavier-weight non-stretch fabric)
- ½ yard lining fabric (lighter-weight cotton recommended)
- ~2 yards of webbing or other strap material
Marsha is a serial-crafter: she is the sewing, sublimation and embroidery champion at the Fab Lab.
